Let’s give 1 Million
Minutes back to
the Irish Red Cross

Every month, Irish Red Cross volunteers give one million minutes of their time to help others. That’s nearly 700 days of service, every single month. Rain or shine. Day or night.

Whenever people need us, our volunteers are there. But they need more time.

With your support, Irish Red Cross volunteers can be better prepared for emergencies, respond when disaster strikes, and help communities recover and rebuild afterwards.

This October, as the clocks go back, we all gain one hour. We are asking the people of Ireland to use that hour to support the Irish Red Cross. It’s time to give.

Give your hour back. Take the Nationwide pledge, challenge yourself and raise funds for the Irish Red Cross.

Donate to the Irish Red Cross to support our volunteers and give them more time to help others.

Irish Red Cross Volunteers give 1 million minutes of their time each month. That is the equivalent of 694 days. Every single month. Regardless of weather.

Give Time. Give Together.

Challenge yourself to run, walk, hike, skip or choose your own activity, and help us raise €1 million and awareness of the vital work of the Irish Red Cross.

Get your friends involved, set challenges for each other to beat, invite your local running club or GAA club to participate, or go it alone. The possibilities are endless.

  • Young First Aiders Rise to the Challenge! 🚑👏 Almost 100 young volunteers from the Irish Red Cross, Order of Malta, St John Ambulance Ireland, and St John Ambulance Northern Ireland came together in Tallaght for the first-ever all-island Inter-Organisational Youth First Aid Competition, recently. Among those taking part were teams and individual competitors from Irish Red Cross branches in Trim, Co. Meath and Limerick @irishredcrosslimerick @irishredcrosslimerickyouth, proudly representing their communities on a national stage. Throughout the day, participants put their first aid skills, teamwork, leadership and decision-making abilities to the test by responding to realistic emergency scenarios, all under the watchful eye of independent judges. This very special event brought together like-minded young people, from different organisations, who generously volunteer their time to help others. While they may wear different uniforms, their goal is the same – helping those in their time of need. A huge congratulations to every young person who took part. Your commitment, confidence and dedication to helping others is truly inspiring. Events like this showcase the incredible future of first aid volunteering across the island and the power of young people making a difference in their communities.
